Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about private AI hosting answered

What is OpenClaw?

OpenClaw is an open-source AI coding assistant that runs locally. It provides the same capabilities as cloud-based AI coding tools, but runs entirely on your infrastructure. Your code never leaves your network.

What infrastructure do I need?

We support deployment on AWS, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Linode, or virtually any other VPS/dedicated host, or on-premises environments.

How long does deployment take?

Once your infrastructure is ready, deployment typically takes 1-2 business days. This includes model installation, configuration, security hardening, and validation testing.

What support do you provide?

ProClaw provides complete deployment and ongoing support. This includes initial setup, security configuration, monitoring setup, and ongoing maintenance. We offer SLA-backed support tiers for enterprise customers.

Can I use my existing IDE integrations?

Yes. OpenClaw provides API-compatible endpoints for popular IDE extensions. Your developers can continue using VS Code, JetBrains, or other editors with their familiar AI coding extensions - just pointed at your private instance.

Is my data used for training?

No. When you run OpenClaw on your own infrastructure, your code and prompts stay on your servers. There is no telemetry, no data collection, and no training on your data. You have complete control.

How does pricing work?

ProClaw charges a one-time deployment fee plus optional ongoing support. You pay your cloud provider directly for infrastructure costs. This means no per-seat licensing, no token-based billing, and no surprises. Contact us for a quote.

Can I customize the model?

Yes. Private hosting enables fine-tuning on your codebase, coding standards, and internal libraries. This improves suggestion quality for your specific context. We can help you set up fine-tuning pipelines.

What about compliance certifications?

Since OpenClaw runs on your infrastructure, it inherits your compliance posture. If your AWS environment is SOC 2 certified, your AI deployment is too. We provide documentation to help your compliance team validate the deployment.

How do updates work?

Model and software updates are provided as packages you can apply at your convenience. You control the update schedule and can test updates in staging before production. There are no forced updates.
